Yellow n Orange Dahlias (from my garden) by theresahelmer Yellow n Orange Dahlias (from my garden) by theresahelmer
Dedicate this image to many wonderful friends who has supported me constantly- :iconsnoogaloo: :iconcrazygardener::iconagnewart::iconplaid-f::iconarusung::iconappa-appa-away::icondouce-amertume::icongryffgirl::iconblueivyviolet::

:bulletorange: Quite interesting...A little background on this beauty Dahlia - "Dahl" is a homophone of the Swedish word "dal", or "valley"; although it is not a true translation, the plant is sometimes referred to as the "valley flower". Many sources state that the name "Dahlia" was bestowed by the pioneering Swedish botanist and taxonomist Carl Linnaeus to honor his late student, Anders Dahl

:bulletyellow: For many many years on Mother's day, my son would buy me two-three different Dahlias for me. This year he gave me the newest flower on the market - a black dahlia. They are not in bloom yet, can't wait though! So i have many many Dahlias in bloom right now......beautiful indeed!

You should know I took these photos over a period of several months. They do not bloom all at once.

:bulletorange: This is a stock image, great for references or use this as a cover or etc.

Actually I do not, living right in the middle of San Francisco Bay Area, the land are scarce but I do use every bit of the available areas in my garden. I have often heard from my friends and neighbors, even my children when they are home...that it is like walking into an entirely different world...so green and peaceful...

I thrive when I am in my garden, mentally specially

Awww, Theresa :happycry: That dedication makes my heart melt!! Thank you!!

It's so wonderful to see so the great variety of vibrant colors in these flowers! I'm so amazed. The one on the top left is probably my favorite--it's so flashy!! They're glorious :)
