Thank you very much. From time to time i do post recipes (if i have time to spare), i could easily borrow the existing recipes online, but i don't feel comfortable using those recipes without permissions. That was the reason i suggested to you to locate an ideal recipe online.
Wilton actually sells black gel food coloring, I am not sure what did you mean by "got" black icing? Did you mean I bought some? If so, no, I'm way too cheap to buy them when I can make them with friction on the $$.
If you still have the same problem in the future for making black icing, may I suggest to add some red to the color black. It will work, I promise you!
Chef? Wow you flattered me, I am just a mom who likes to experiment and am always happy to learn anything new...I am an 100% self-taught from day one when it comes to baking/making desserts, at times, I do secretly wish I can learn from a professional one day...
In my humble opinion, you don't have to be a professional working in some restaurant to be a chef. I was a Food Service Specialist for the Army for a couple of years and let me tell you, my mom and her cooking was probably my biggest influence for that so even if you're " just a mom who likes to experiment", then to me that's just more respect towards you. I'm alright when it comes to baking, but many of the things you've posted here are the kinds of things I could only dream of doing.
