Granny Smith Apple Cupcakes by theresahelmer Granny Smith Apple Cupcakes by theresahelmer
I had so much fun making the Red Delicious Apple Cupcakes a few days back. So i made some Green Granny Smith Apple Cupcakes today for Valentine treat.

:bulletgreen: Apple cupcakes w/Cream Cheese frosting
:bulletgreen: Fondant leaves
:bulletgreen: Wiltonę Light Green Colored Sugars & Dark Green Colored Sugars
:bulletgreen: I used real apple tree stems and here is why - Have you ever smelled the stems that's been freshly cut from an apple tree? if not, why not give it a try! the apple stems carries this sweet scent and the scent permeate into the cupcake itself, hence using the stems. Yes, i could use other materials (pretzels, tootsie roll, black licorice...) but the stems has always been my preferred choice. (Eating a dessert, any desserts, should be an experience in taste, texture and aesthetically pleasing to your eyes. Harmonious combination is essential)
:bulletgreen: Pretzels as stems is an easy option. I reject the idea because pretzels carries the salty and crunchy texture, it simply does not offer the cohesiveness i hope to achieve in my cupcakes. Other choices clashes with the lightness of the cupcakes, to me, they are also bad choices.

Details. Details. Details....set my baked goods from others...the devil is in the details still right?! Example: I used two colored sugar sprinkles. Why you ask? Real apples does not offer one shade of green + two shades of greens yields a better photo in the end.

This is wonderful!  If I ever had a wedding or some sort of huge party, I'd choose you over anyone else to give me food ideas/instructions.

I like the green better than the red ones :) I like your work, I agree about the details, they really do make the difference.

Wow, reading about how much detail and effort goes into your desserts is SO interesting!  You are completely right: the details make all the difference, and really make everything so beautiful and special!  I will definitely keep all these details in mind.  :)
And I can really see how your philosophy about desserts affects everything you make.  They all look so wonderful; like works of art. ^v^
