I made this treat for a little boy's birthday party (he turned 5). He loves fishing, always walking around with a small plastic fishing rod
with a green plastic fish attached on the end. He is super cute!
Moms and Dads...a super cute idea for your adorable child's next birthday party!
You will need:
A small glass or plastic fish bowl
KOOL-AID Burst, Berry Blue - you can use either the powder or perhaps you prefer the liquid ones in the bottles already. (powder ones are much cheaper)
Wilton food coloring in blue - You will just need a little bit of this to enhance the blue hue.
Plain gelatin, you will need 3/4 envelopes for each bowl.
Gummy fish, about 7 fish for each bowl.
Mixed Kool-Aid, food coloring and plain gelatin together (Dissolve thoroughly in boiling hot water). Set aside to allow liquid mixture to cool. Then pour 1/3 mixture into fish bowl, place fish bowl in the refrigerator to set. Add 2 gummy fish then add another 1/3 of liquid mixture. Repeat again.
To eat this, well...i gave them small plastic spoon to eat this treat but they all ended up using their little fingers digging the fish out of the bowl.
To continue the "fishing" theme, there were also Goldfish snack crackers, fresh sugar canes that were cut into thin strips (acting as edible fishing rods), blue jelly beans and plain ice cream cone to put their jelly beans in.
